# SAP Datasphere — First Data Product Checklist A simple planning checklist to accompany the Brefat SAP Community article. ## Define the product - [ ] Name the business use case, data owner and expected consumers. - [ ] Identify source systems, fields, business keys and grain. - [ ] Confirm privacy / authorization requirements. ## Prepare the data - [ ] Verify connection, access, and data quality. - [ ] Build or reuse the appropriate view(s) and validate results. - [ ] Choose **federation vs replication** based on freshness, compute load and access needs. - [ ] Check naming, descriptions and business semantics. ## Make it consumable - [ ] Confirm the view is enabled/exposed for the required consumption scenario, where applicable. - [ ] Configure the Data Product artifact using the options available in your tenant/release. - [ ] Check permissions for publishers and consumers. - [ ] Test discovery, access and consumption from a consumer perspective. ## Operate it - [ ] Agree on expected data freshness and responsibilities. - [ ] Monitor performance and review access periodically. - [ ] Document dependencies and known limitations. **Note:** Product capabilities, steps and UI labels may vary across SAP Datasphere releases and configurations. This checklist is a conceptual reference, not a substitute for tenant-specific official documentation.
